Toowoomba Masters Meet Report 2026
Toowoomba Masters Short Course Swim Meet – 30 May 2026
Despite a change of venue and date from the Glennie Pool to the Fairholme Aquatic Centre, we still welcomed over 110 swimmers from across the state and interstate who made the trip up the Range for a fun day of racing and catching up.
I apologise for the confusion around the start time; however, it was great to see everyone arrive on time, allowing the meet to finish by 3.00pm and enabling swimmers to travel back down the Range before dark.
The 400m event was conducted as a trial, and we would welcome feedback for future meets.
The success of the day would not have been possible without the ongoing support and behind-the-scenes efforts of our Club Captain, Carolyn Lunney, and Amanda from Glennie Swim Club. Results were made instantly available on Meet Mobile after each event, which was greatly appreciated.
We hope everyone enjoyed the lunch provided by Toowoomba Masters and prepared by the Fairholme Swimming Club—no one went hungry!
Presentations were held after the final event, with Hervey Bay taking out the small clubs’ average points trophy, and Commercial Club winning the large clubs’ average points trophy.
There were four state records and one national record set on the day. Congratulations to Kady Ibell, Jackie Goldston, and Stephen Berting on their outstanding performances.
Thank you to the Toowoomba Masters swimmers and family members who volunteered their time as timekeepers, Chief Timekeeper, marshaller, and in supporting fundraising activities. Their efforts ensured the meet ran smoothly without requiring timekeepers from other clubs.
Many thanks also to our Technical Officials who travelled up the Range and ensured the meet ran efficiently, with only one disqualification recorded and valuable guidance provided to swimmers throughout the day.
