QBN Meet Report

Brisbane Northside held a very successful short course swim meet on Saturday 26th August at the Valley Pool, with 124 competitors representing 32 clubs from across Queensland, and three swimmers from interstate.

The weather in Brisbane was fine and warm making it very pleasant for swimmers, volunteers, and officials.

The meet went very smoothly with no delays, and after a short break in the middle of the 25 metre events to allow swimmers a breather, the meet finished at 1pm, which was on schedule.

Lunch was served at the conclusion of events, and individual and team presentations followed soon after, with the following Club winners announced:

The John and Shirley Kerr Trophy for Small Clubs was won by Belgravia Masters.

The Don Fowles Trophy for Large Clubs was won by UQ Masters.

The Overall Winner trophy for highest aggregate points was won by Miami Masters.

There were some amazing individual swims on the day with a total of 9 Branch records broken.

The club would like to thank everyone that came along and helped make it an enjoyable morning, either swimming, officiating, or helping with timekeeping, and look forward to hosting another successful meet next year.

Brisbane Northside wishes to thank their major sponsors, Vegie Prepi, Café 63 and Swimwear Shack for their ongoing support.
