Belgravia Swim Meet Wrap Up
Belgravia Swim Meet July 2023
Our annual swim meet held on the 22/23rd July was a great success. It was a great 2 days of racing with lots of great swimming, fun and friendship.
The meet was attended by approximately 90 swimmers over the two days with all possible events available on the program, from 50 to 1500 in all strokes except 1500 fly. We also had a couple of interstate swimmers join our meet.
There were 7 Branch and 3 National records broken. Although these are still to be ratified by MSA they were amazing swims, in particular Marsha Reddiex breaking the National 800 IM by over 4 minutes in the 80-84 age group and also Justin Giles breaking the National 800 & 1500 Breaststroke.
State records were also broken by Ian Robinson from Noosa Masters in the 400 Breaststroke, Christina Scolaro from UQ in the 100 Breaststroke, Brian Hoepper from Noosa Masters in the 800 IM, Narelle Phillips from Belgravia Masters in the 1500 Backstroke and Marsha Reddiex from Belgravia Masters in the 100, 200 and 800 Backstroke.
Prizes were awarded to the swimmers closest to their nominated time in each event, male and female. Great to see swimmers winning a prize regardless of how fast they might have swum.
Although numbers were down for the Sunday events, it was still well received by those that did compete saying they loved the concept as these long distances are not offered at most of the swim meets throughout the year.

Belgravia Masters President and Meet Director.
