MSQ Makes Waves for Youth Mental Health

Masters Swimming Queensland Raises Over $5,800 for Youth Mental Health

Masters swimmers across Queensland have wrapped up a month of community action, raising funds and awareness for youth mental health through the national Laps for Life campaign.

The Masters Swimming Queensland (MSQ) team contributed $3,514, with 10 dedicated swimmers collectively logging an impressive 280 kilometres throughout March while fundraising in support of ReachOut’s free mental health services for young Australians.

Adding to the statewide effort, the Belgravia Masters Swim Team hosted an independent Marathon Swim Challenge relay on Saturday 28 March. The event attracted 85 swimmers and raised an outstanding $2,300 for the cause.

By all accounts, the relay was a great success and will become a regular event on the club’s calendar.

Together, these combined efforts generated more than $5,800, reinforcing the strong commitment of the MSQ community to supporting young people and promoting wellbeing through movement, connection and purpose.

The November 2025 Swim for a Cure and the March 2026 Laps for Life events mark MSQ’s initial statewide fundraising initiatives and have already proved popular, raising a total of $15,544 across both campaigns.

MSQ extends its thanks to every swimmer, donor and supporter who helped make these campaigns such a success.
