Ipswich City Masters Claim Lucky 13!
Ipswich City Masters (QIP) have once again proven their dominance in endurance swimming, winning the 2023 Endurance 1000 (E1000) Highest Aerobic Average trophy for an impressive 13th consecutive year. This remarkable achievement highlights their dedication to the sport and their unwavering commitment to this national program.
Masters Swimming Queensland President, Susanne, recently joined QIP members for a lively Sunday morning E1000 session to personally present the coveted trophy. A beaming QIP President, Eric Edgeworth, graciously accepted the award on behalf of his club, expressing immense pride in their achievement.
“I’m proud to receive this trophy on behalf of all Ipswich City Masters members who participate in the E1000 program,” Eric said. “Our timed Sunday swims reflect Masters Swimming Queensland’s motto of fitness, friendship and fun. We always encourage friendly competition and welcome any challengers to the title.”
With a playful smile, Eric added, “You’ll have to be good though, as every year, QIP members step up to the challenge.”
The Ipswich City Masters’ consistent success in the Endurance 1000 competition is a testament to their team spirit and determination. Their Sunday sessions have become not only a club tradition but a reflection of their commitment to health, community, and camaraderie.
Will 2024 bring a new contender, or will QIP make it 14 in a row? Time will tell!
