Hervey Bay Postal Swim Summary

The Hervey Bay Masters Swim Club 2021 Postal Swim was held throughout the month of March. The swims are now finished, and the times have been recorded! A huge thank you to the 13 “visiting” clubs for your huge support of our postal meet held in lieu of our usual meet because of the uncertainty and restrictions caused by the pandemic.

We missed your smiling faces around the pool, we missed seeing your magnificent swims and we really missed sharing a fun social event with you.

We received 83 individual entries from those 13 clubs, with 365 individual swims being recorded.

Breakdown of entries by club:

Albany Creek Masters 4
Brisbane Northside Masters 1
Hervey Bay Humpbacks 18
Ipswich City Masters 3
Maryborough Masters 5
Miami Masters 1
Noosa Masters 21
North Mackay Sinkers 7
Redlands Bayside Masters 9
Sunshine Coast Masters 2
Twin Towns Masters 6
Whitsunday Warriors 5
Yeronga Park Yabbies 1

Congratulations to all swimmers. We trust you enjoyed the chance to test yourself after our break from competitive events. Each swimmer will receive a certificate which will be emailed to your club secretary. The design of our certificates is an original by Alan Hodkinson, our Club Captain’s husband.

We hope all clubs enjoyed their participation and we look forward to 2022 when we hope to see you all “in the flesh”.

As promised, we are having a lucky swimmer draw. To add a bit of fun and excitement to the draw we plan to go live on Facebook from the Aquatic Centre at 10.30am on Sunday 16th.

We hope you can join us for the draw.

The Humpbacks recorded their times at a Mini Meet, followed by a BBQ. Thank you to all the helpers on the day.  Special mentions to Bruce (Shay’s Dad) for being the Starter, Brooke for organizing the events and getting everyone into gear, Mark and Cindy for cooking up a storm on the BBQ, and Shay for all her organizing and shopping for the BBQ feast. And of course, the Timekeepers are always awesome!
