Rackley Masters Wrap Up

Mother Nature ensured that the inaugural swim meet hosted by the Rackley team was ideal swimming weather. The day came together perfectly and fortunately managed to avoid any major COVID impact which was great. Thank you to all the Rackley team members on working together to make it a success, an admirable feat given the logistics of being spread across multiple pools in Brisbane.

Congratulations to the following clubs for their success on the day. There are trophies that will make their way to you shortly!

Small Club: Noosa Masters

Large Club: University of Qld Masters

Combined Team Scores: University of Qld Masters

There were 136 swimmers who competed on the day, so thank you to all who attended for supporting the meet so well. It is a shame it couldn’t be the preparation for the Pan Pacs originally planned, but opportunities to compete in the turbulent world we live in at the moment are all valuable.

Luck was on Rackley’s side in more ways than one. The Centenary Aquatic Centre had months’ worth of major work being undertaken to restore the heritage-listed building onsite. The photo below was taken just 2 days before the carnival, with the scaffolding even taking up two lanes of the pool! Thank you goes out to all of the centre staff who worked hard to ensure everything was looking flawless for the carnival.
