Belgravia Masters Meet Summary
Belgravia Masters Swim Team were proud and excited to host our inaugural meet on September 4th at the Burpengary Regional Aquatic Centre. This facility has been overlooked for too long as a quality venue for Masters Swim Meets and hopefully will be a regular venue on the Masters schedule in the future.
We welcomed 92 competitors to what I hope was a friendly and relaxed meet. The 21 clubs represented competed keenly on the day and no major issues were reported.
Many of our members were attending their first meet as “Belgravia Masters” and we have gained valuable insight into organising and running an event. The lessons learnt and exposure to the masters’ community will hopefully see future events have a big increase in swimmers nominating, as I’m sure from the feedback received so far the venue and facilities were well suited for larger competitions.
Special thanks must be given to all our volunteers, officials and members for getting us through the day in a relaxed and timely manner.
