Celebrating Excellence: MSQ Shines in the 2025 World Aquatics Masters Top 10

Each year, World Aquatics publishes its Masters World Top 10 rankings, recognising the fastest individual performances across every age group and swimming event worldwide. Rankings are compiled separately for Short Course Metres (25m pools) and Long Course Metres (50m pools), making a place in the World Top 10 one of the highest honours in Masters swimming.

In 2025, Masters Swimming Queensland is proud to celebrate the achievements of 33 MSQ swimmers who earned places on the 2025 World Aquatics Masters Top 10 rankings. Together, these outstanding athletes recorded an incredible 91 individual Top 10 swims, highlighting the depth of talent, commitment and excellence within the Masters Swimming Queensland community.

Outstanding Performances

Leading the way was Marsha Reddiex (Belgravia Masters), who achieved an exceptional 10 World Top 10 swims, the highest number recorded by any MSQ swimmer in 2025.

Other standout performers included:

• Lindy Salter (Miami Masters) with 8 World Top 10 swims
• Denise Robertson (Miami Masters) with 6 World Top 10 swims
• Shelley Devers (Commercial Masters) with 6 World Top 10 swims

These remarkable results reflect countless hours of training, commitment and a passion for excellence in the pool.

World Number One Rankings

Particularly noteworthy were the performances of four MSQ swimmers who achieved the coveted distinction of recording the fastest time in the world in their respective events and age groups.

Congratulations to our 2025 World Number One swimmers:

• Jen Thomasson (Cotton Tree Masters) – 3 World Number One times
• Denise Robertson (Miami Masters) – 3 World Number One times
• Marsha Reddiex (Belgravia Masters) – 1 World Number One time
• Nadine Loof (Barbarians Masters) – 1 World Number One time

Adding to their achievements, Jen Thomasson and Nadine Loof also attained World Number One rankings in 2024, demonstrating exceptional consistency at the highest level of Masters swimming.

MSQ Relay Teams in the 2025 World Aquatics Masters Top 10

The World Aquatics Masters World Top 10 also ranks relay teams, listing the fastest club relay times in each event and age group in both Short Course Metres and Long Course Metres.

In 2025, six Masters Swimming Queensland clubs earned a combined 24 relay placings on the World Top 10 list, showcasing the strength and depth of Queensland Masters swimming.

Leading the way was TSA Masters, which recorded an outstanding 14 relay Top 10 placings, the most of any MSQ club. TSA also achieved Queensland’s only World Number One relay ranking, in the Women’s 4x50m Medley Relay (200–239 years), swum by Kylie Fletcher, Christina Scolaro, Lene Knudsen and Caroline Saxby.

Other notable relay achievements included:

• Miami Masters with 4 relay Top 10 placings, including a best finish of second
• Swim Fast Masters with 2 relay Top 10 placings, including a third-placed team
• Commercial Masters with 2 relay Top 10 placings
• Cotton Tree Masters with 1 relay Top 10 placing
• Gympie Gold Fins Masters with 1 relay Top 10 placing

These results demonstrate the importance of teamwork and club spirit in Masters swimming, with relay swimmers combining their talents to achieve success on the world stage.

To earn a place in the World Aquatics Masters Top 10 is a significant accomplishment. It represents not only exceptional race performances but also the dedication, discipline and perseverance required to compete alongside the world’s best Masters swimmers.

Masters Swimming Queensland congratulates all 33 swimmers recognised in the 2025 individual rankings, along with the members of the 24 relay teams that achieved World Top 10 status. Your achievements inspire fellow swimmers across our state and showcase the strength of Masters Swimming Queensland on the international stage.

Whether competing individually or as part of a relay team, your performances have helped raise the profile of Masters Swimming Queensland and demonstrate that our athletes continue to rank among the very best in the world.
