2026 Laps for Life – MSQ Team Update
2026 Laps for Life – Masters Swimming Queensland Team Update
Masters Swimming Queensland, as part of its Community Care Program, is proud to launch its second annual fundraiser for the 2025–26 season in support of the Laps for Life – ReachOut March Swim.
Laps for Life is a month‑long swimming challenge held every March, encouraging participants to swim for their own mental wellbeing while raising funds for the more than 1 in 3 young Australians currently experiencing mental health challenges.
The 2026 event marks the 8th edition of Laps for Life, and the first year that MSQ is participating as a State team. Several MSQ clubs have supported the initiative individually in previous years, and we are excited to bring everyone together under one united MSQ banner.
Funds raised through Laps for Life help ReachOut continue delivering free, anonymous, and 100% online mental health support for young people—services that are vital, accessible, and often life‑changing.
- Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.
- More than one in three young people are experiencing mental health difficulties, yet over a million are not receiving the support they need.
- ReachOut provides a safe space for young people to connect, share, and seek help when life feels overwhelming.
With several MSQ clubs already familiar with this event, we invite all members to join the MSQ Laps for Life Team and help ensure these essential services remain available. Your participation—whether through swimming, fundraising, or donating—makes a meaningful difference.
You can join the Masters Swimming Queensland team by scrolling down to the Join Team tab and completing your details here. You can donate at the same site if you are able to. You can also learn more about the ReachOut movement here.
As of Tuesday the 10th, of March, the MSQ team already has eleven members from several clubs, raising $2,409—a fantastic start as we look to grow our team even further.
